An application has gone into the council to extend the working hours at the Starr Gate Tram Depot developement....
Our objection made on 18 October 2009 , to Blackpool planning is as follows:
Dear Sir,Madam
Starr Gate Residents Association strongly object to the variation in
condition 15.
The original condition was imposed by planning specifically to address
the concerns of the residents objections to the working hours of the site. Hence
the statement in the interests of residential amenity.
At this stage to over rule
your own recommendations will make a mockery of the original condition and will only
go to support the applicant more favourably than any other such applicant.
In the
application the applicant states the condition is too restrictive given the current
use of the site and area. If this was the case why was it initially imposed. Additionally
the current use of the site referred to was a car park which produced only traffic
noise not heavy works.
As such I expect you to stand by your original condition and
restrict the working hours of the site to daylight hours between September and March.
It
should also be noted for the record that until such a decision is made on 09/1271
the original conditions stand and the planning dept should enforce such conditions
which until now they have failed to do so with work on occasion starting before 08:00
and working past 18:00.
Additionally 5 weeks into the project not all site screening
has been complete and the SSSI frequently mentioned has been subject to pollution
as a consequence.
Yours Respectfully
M Chapman
Starr Gate Residents Association.
